Sweetest woman to help you like that. Love her- and little Stephen grew up just fine. You are still really good at laundry!

Thank you! Knowing the door is usually on top on the washer and in front on the dryer is a huge help!

Aw…kind of heart breaking—and oh so beautiful. I wonder how many little children couldn’t help but fall in love with information Lady?

Thanks Sara. I fell in love with her all over again when I remembered this story.

I so enjoyed the pacing and details. I felt as if I were an alien being reintroduced to the landline and 411 world of my own childhood: Oh yes! Yes! Exactly like that! Picturing you and the Information Lady warmed my heart. You were so eagerly committed and she was so knowledgeable, patient and trustworthy about "doing the laundry." Yeah, now I Google alternative facts to do my laundry, and it never quite comes out clean. It's a different world indeed. Thanks for that reminder.

Yes. I thought about all the kids today just Googling how to do laundry, right?

I suspect it’s likelier they’re Googling “How to get your mom to do your laundry.” :-) But yeah, for those kids home along who want to do laundry, it’s Google or Youtube.
